Golme History

January 1998
Alick Munro, our founder, first started building portable goals for local teams struggling to find soccer fields to train on. While the popularity of soccer was relatively low, he recognized the unlimited potential and growth for the sport in the future. “It seemed like every field we would try to play on was either full or did not have soccer goals. So I started building regulation size goals that were portable. This way coaches and players could play anywhere”.

Over the next three years Alick built over 150 goals known as “GoalPaks” for teams and clubs in Northern Nevada. Every year the demand for these portable goals grew until he could not keep up. He shut down his small production line in 2001, vowing to return to his passion some day.

February 2005
In 2005 Alick Munro handed over his patented portable goal to his son, Graham. Without looking back Graham set off to finish a dream. He brought some of the biggest innovators, professionals, players and coaches to change the industry in a big way. And after two more years and countless hours of research and development GOLME opened for business on October 1, 2007.
